Lovely piece, as usual :) Irrespective of the medals, I hope this proves to be a turning point for hockey in India (among other things that should/could be done for our sportspersons).

Nice attempt to distract us from the question you didn’t answer - What after 7 consecutive Wimbledon titles? Also who is that someone whose name we see tattoed on your wrist? What is happening?

You made me pause Amit Varma to read this one Sarthak. I am loving these posts. Imagine a time when sport legends would be called in the studio rather than Bollywood stars/has-beens.

Will be around in the next Olympics, but the optimist in me tells me that our participation would go up and would be better. Saw Dutee Chand lose, TajinderPal lose and then saw Kamal preet do what she did. Am still hopeful. Out of millions of eligible population, Fast bowler to nahi dhoondh payenge but I guess we will keep finding more and more sport stars as we go along. I’d be okay with that.
